Job summary

Town of Zebulon is seeking a skilled Stormwater Equipment Operator to repair, maintain, and replace stormwater infrastructure. The role requires experience with heavy equipment, leadership potential, and willingness to work varied shifts, including during severe weather.

Responsibilities include operating backhoes, dump trucks, and jet-vacs; performing routine maintenance; and assisting with line locates and inspections as needed. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• Operate light to heavy construction equipment in stormwater work.
• Maintain and perform daily checks on equipment and vehicles.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE as required.
• Coordinate with crew to complete tasks efficiently.
• Lead a small crew when needed and monitor quality of work.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoes, dump trucks, street sweepers, skid steers, and excavators.
• Maintain equipment and schedule repairs to keep them in good order.
• Perform concrete work related to stormwater infrastructure repairs.
• Clear drains, repair pipes, and install curb and gutter as needed.
• Assist with line locates and construction inspections.
