Job summary

EKI Environment & Water, Inc is seeking a Stormwater Engineer/Scientist to support stormwater compliance and design for industrial, commercial, and municipal clients in Irvine, CA.

The role requires a minimum of three years in environmental engineering, PE or similar licenses preferred, and QISP interest. You will perform hydrologic analyses, design BMPs, prepare SWPPPs/ERA reports, and collaborate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an engineer or scientist in the environmental engineering/consulting field with a background in industrial stormwater projects.
• Professional Engineer license, Engineer-In-Training certification, or Professional Geologist license preferred
• Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP) certification or interest in obtaining preferred
• Experience with AutoCad, AutoDesk Civil 3D, or ESRI Pro software packages preferred
• OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the Environmental practice with the ability to step in and immediately manage various environmental projects
• Prepare technical memoranda, ERA reports, electronic deliverables, and SWPPPs and review data throughout the project cycle
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of stormwater runoff
• Design stormwater best management practices
• Inspect commercial, industrial, and construction sites for conformance with applicable stormwater permit requirements
• Perform pollutant source assessments
• Collect samples and evaluate stormwater quality data
• Provide training to client personnel regarding permit requirements, sampling procedures, and BMP implementation
• Assist with permit applications and communicate with regulatory agencies
• Work with internal and external team members to produce successful projects
• Other duties as required
