Job summary

Garrett & Moore, Inc. is seeking a Stormwater Engineer to design and analyze stormwater systems, ensuring effective management, regulatory compliance, and robust project outcomes across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure developments.

You will translate client needs into practical, compliant designs. The ideal candidate combines a strong foundation in hydrology and hydraulics with hands-on experience in stormwater modeling tools, reporting, and field collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • PE license with at least five years post-licensure experience.
  • Experience with stormwater modeling software (SWMM/HEC-RAS or similar).
  • Strong hydrology/hydraulics knowledge and regulatory understanding.
  • Experience in designing and managing stormwater infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop stormwater management systems and infrastructure.
  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water flow and drainage.
  • Prepare technical reports, plans, and specifications for stormwater projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate stormwater system performance.
  • Prepare stormwater and erosion control plans for approval by regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare stormwater pollution prevention plans for industrial stormwater permits.
