Job summary

The City of Highland Village is seeking a Stormwater/Drainage Technician to maintain and repair our stormwater systems and assist in new infrastructure projects. You will work with access to modern heavy equipment and specialized tools to handle drainage challenges and ensure community safety.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least six months of relevant experience, and must be able to obtain a CDL Class B license within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of previous experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the physical requirements.
• Able to obtain a CDL Class B license within twelve months of employment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and repairs of the city’s stormwater system.
• Clean and clear stormwater channels, culverts, and ditches.
• Perform regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them promptly.
• Respond to drainage-related emergencies and coordinate with other city departments and contractors as needed.
• Assist in the construction of new stormwater infrastructure projects.
