Job summary

City of Highland Village seeks a Streets Maintenance worker under direct supervision to assist with maintenance, repair, and safety on city streets and structures. This role involves preparing for concrete and asphalt work, using a variety of hand tools, and performing routine equipment checks.

Responsibilities include traffic control, loading tools for work orders, and operating vehicles such as service trucks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; supplemented by six (6) months of previous experience that demonstrates ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the essential functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Able to obtain a CDL class B license within (6) six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform streets maintenance and repair work in asphalt and concrete.
• Prepare for pouring concrete and laying asphalt, including hand-mixing where applicable.
• Prepare for work orders by loading tools and materials and clean up after use.
• Participate in traffic control activities.
• Inspect and prepare equipment before and after use for safe operation.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment such as service trucks and loaders.
