The City of Denison is seeking a Compliance Inspector to support municipal stormwater and construction site program activities. You will assist with inspections, data management, enforcement, and public education, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal guidelines.

The role requires handling permit requirements, preparing reports, and coordinating with contractors and the public while maintaining professional customer service and accurate records.

Formación

• Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, the Internet, smartphone/tablet applications and other computer applications.
• Good clerical and office equipment operations.
• Knowledge of environmental impacts and personal protective equipment.
• Knowledge of regulatory and technical aspects of EPA and TCEQ.
• Ability to clearly and professionally communicate verbally and written.
• Ability to work independently and provide decision making support based on existing ordinances, law and regulations.
• Ability to handle contacts with the public or other entities with tact and judgment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with contractors, industrial users and the public.
• Ability to collect field samples and data using technical sampling equipment.
• Ability to conduct data analysis and prepare reports using databases and spreadsheets.
• Ability to learn city ordinances, maps, laws and environmental regulations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, regulators and the public.

Responsabilidades

• Notify construction site operators of stormwater permitting and sediment control requirements.
• Notify industrial users of stormwater permitting and SPCC requirements.
• Implement the City's MS4 management plan.
• Provide coaching and guidance and conduct enforcement as needed.
• Conduct stormwater inspections and assist with sampling.
• Research permit, ordinance, state and federal regulations related to stormwater control.
• Provide exceptional customer service and promote teamwork with internal/external customers.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and manage files and documentation.
• Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
