Job summary

The City of Savannah seeks a Stormwater Compliance Inspector to enforce stormwater regulations on public and private properties and review plans for compliance. You will document inspections, coordinate with vendors and agencies, and support credit program administration.

Responsibilities include field verifications, GPS data collection, and reporting to ensure accurate impervious-surface information and proper Stormwater Utility billing.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED and three years of experience in building construction, construction technology, engineering, stormwater management, code enforcement, utility inspection, or related field.
• Specialized training and certification for the assigned department within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect private construction sites for stormwater compliance and enforce codes; prepare documentation for litigation.
• Coordinate with contractors, property owners, and agencies to resolve issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct field inspections and prepare reports on environmental compliance and credits.
• Respond to complaints, inspect MS4 structures, and verify impervious-surface data for Stormwater Utility fees.
