Job summary

Jefferson Parish is seeking an Environmental Quality Technician II to support the Stormwater Management Program. Under general supervision, you will enforce water pollution control laws and implement program activities, conducting site inspections, surveys and sampling in line with federal/state guidelines.

You will communicate with industry, citizens, and Parish officials, prepare reports and notices of violations, and contribute to program files and correspondence.

Qualifications

• Enforcement of environmental laws and programs.
• Experience with inspections, surveys and sampling.
• Strong report writing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional environmental work enforcing water pollution control laws.
• Conduct industrial/commercial site inspections and surveys.
• Communicate with industry, citizens and Parish officials about laws and best management practices.
• Prepare reports, notices of violations and program correspondence.
• Drive parish vehicle as needed and maintain driving record.
