Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Technician within the Public Works Stormwater Division in Texas.

You will join an experienced team of environmental consultants on municipalities and facilities projects to ensure compliance with water quality regulations. Responsibilities include inspections, data entry, and monitoring, with travel across Texas to sites in Houston, Austin, Freeport, Conroe, and Beaumont.

Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills; attention to detail in recording field data.
Must have a clear driving record; DMV check will be conducted.
Ability to represent LJA and its clients professionally at all times.
Experience with environmental regulatory compliance and/or field inspections preferred.

Responsibilities

Conducting construction site inspections to identify stormwater quality issues.
Conducting municipal facility inspections to identify stormwater quality issues.
Conducting outfall monitoring to identify illicit discharges.
Entering data associated with field inspections.
Conducting representative monitoring events.
Communicating through verbal and written means as required for job performance.
Providing status reports to project manager on routine basis.
Performing other assigned duties as required.
