Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist focused on Stormwater Compliance & Water Resources in Torrance, CA. You will join a growing Water Resources practice, delivering stormwater compliance services for IGP/CGP/CII and other NPDES permits, with field inspections, data analysis, and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years in stormwater compliance, environmental permitting or related environmental consulting.
• Strong understanding of CA IGP/CGP/Region 9 permits and municipal NPDES programs.
• Experience with environmental inspections, stormwater monitoring, sampling, and regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical report writing.

Responsibilities

• Support stormwater compliance programs for IGP, CGP, CII and NPDES permits.
• Perform site inspections, audits, monitoring, sampling, and wet-weather monitoring.
• Prepare SWPPPs, WPCPs, ERAPs, MIPs, SAPs, QAPPs, and regulatory reports.
• Evaluate monitoring data and develop compliance strategies.
• Assist clients with permit interpretation and regulator coordination.
• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, budgeting and business development.
