The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of machinery repair experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Four years of high school or equivalent.
One year experience in machinery repair and operation.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and provide DMV record within 30 days during interview.
Preferred candidate will have VA Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Preferred candidate will obtain back-flow preventer certification and pesticide applicator license within 1 year of employment.
Confined space certification is preferred; otherwise it will be provided within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance to stormwater pumping stations and surrounding grounds.
Inspects and maintains mechanical and electrical stormwater equipment including pumping stations, generators, flood gates, valves, and tide gauges.
Troubleshoots malfunctions by identifying causes and determining corrective actions.
Leads pump station crew, oversees quality, trains staff, and coordinates junior employees’ schedules.
Manages projects by coordinating with engineers, contractors, and vendors; prepares work orders and monitors progress.
