Job summary

State of Georgia's Insurance Department seeks a Storm Mitigation Program Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of statewide strategies that reduce vulnerability to severe weather and protect communities.

You will oversee mitigation initiatives, align programs with state and federal requirements, manage budgets and funding strategies, and collaborate with government, insurance, construction, and academic partners to advance resilience across Georgia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of professional level experience, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, education, or training.
• Experience in program management and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, and execution of statewide mitigation strategies to reduce vulnerabilities to severe weather.
• Oversee mitigation initiatives to strengthen infrastructure resilience and preparedness before, during, and after storms.
• Direct program budgets, funding strategies, and expenditure plans with accountability systems.
• Monitor program performance and provide regular reports to executive leadership and oversight entities.
• Coordinate partnerships among government, insurance, construction, financial, academic, nonprofit, and community organizations.
