Job summary

Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County in Georgia is seeking a Stormwater Division Manager to administer, manage and coordinate the operations of the Stormwater Division. You will plan, design, schedule, review and manage projects, prepare budgets and supervise division staff.

The role requires a Professional Engineer, a civil or environmental engineering degree with five years in public works and three years of supervisory experience, plus a valid driver's license and Level 1A

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering with five years of public works experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• GEorgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission Level 1A certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates assigned personnel; handles employee concerns; directs work assignments; completes employee performance appraisals; recommends disciplinary action when required.
• Oversees day-to-day operations of Stormwater Management Program including land development plans review, permitting, inspection, and records.
• Administers and ensures regulatory compliance of NPDES Phase II MS4 permit with plan development, documentation and annual reporting.
• Develops recommendations for standards and updates of departmental technical standards in coordination with departments and division administrators.
• Oversees erosion control, floodplain, and stormwater ordinances and serves as Point in Charge for Local Issuing Authority.
