Job summary

Target offers a paid, 40 hr/week internship designed to develop and prepare you for store leadership as a Stores Executive Intern. You will work closely with managers and teammates to learn how Target’s retail business operates and how to excel in a management role.

During the program you’ll gain experience leading a team, driving guest service, merchandising products, and achieving store priorities while receiving mentorship and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest-first team culture across the store.
• Guest engagement; problem-solving and resolution.
• Retail business fundamentals.
• Setting and planning department(s) workload to support priorities and goals.
• Managing a team of hourly team members and leaders.
• Recruiting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Spending time on the store salesfloor and backroom leading team members and aligning the team on daily priorities.
• Working with ETL mentor and other leaders to understand their roles.
• Leading daily priorities (stocking shelves, safe welcoming environment, displays).
• Providing performance feedback and coaching to team members.
• Delivering guest service and ensuring a great guest experience.
