Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is hiring a full-time Steward for the South Dining Hall in the Campus Dining department. You will work in a fast-paced culinary team, maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient workspace and supporting inventory management for events.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, receiving and storing food products and equipment, rotating stock, and ensuring a sanitary storeroom, coolers, freezers, and docks meet safety standards. Pay rate $17.50/hr.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Positive, respectful, and committed to the schedule you create.
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
• Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to position self to move items weighing up to 25 pounds from floor to shelves and cabinets above and below counter height
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products

Responsibilities

• Load/unload trucks, put away equipment, and store foods and supplies
• Pull products/equipment and pack for shipment to various events
• Order, receive, and store food products, supplies, and equipment
• Rotate stock according to dates received and maintain a safe, sanitary storage area
• Checks products and equipment that is received and issued
• Maintain Storeroom, Coolers, Freezers and Docks
