Position Summary:
The Storeroom Coordinator is responsible for managing the inventory and supply chain of critical materials, tools, and equipment used in chemical processing and manufacturing operations. This role ensures that materials are stored safely, tracked accurately, and readily available to support production, maintenance, and safety compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, spare parts, PPE, and consumables using the company’s inventory management system.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and minimize downtime.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate reorders to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Ensure proper labeling, segregation, and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials in compliance with SDS and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory or warehouse coordination, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with chemical handling, SDS documentation, and hazardous material storage.
- Previous storeroom or warehousing experience preferred
- Proficiency with inventory management systems, specifically SAP
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in environments with exposure to chemicals, heat, and noise (with appropriate PPE).
