Job description

The Storeroom Attendant will support the Plant Maintenance and Operations activities by maintaining the Storeroom inventory at the designated levels. Work to maintain accuracy and regularly audit inventory levels, organize logical parts identification, and receive, store and stock material. Assist with inventory procurement and interact with external vendors and Plant stakeholders to maintain and ensure proper inventory integrity.

  1. Maintain proper Storeroom inventory by assisting MRO Buyer to identify material to reorder and/or procure, both Plant inventory and Vendor Managed Inventory.
  2. Audit inventory, cycle count, and perform root cause analysis on inventory variances.
  3. Ensure Storeroom standard operating procedures are in place and executed, issue Plant inventory to appropriate Work Orders in SAP.
  4. Partner with VMI point of contact to ensure accuracy and minimal out of stocks.
  5. Execute our Storeroom receiving processes and entries into SAP. Such duties include receiving regular deliveries, verifying against packing slips, and rejecting inaccuracies.
  6. Proactively resolve issues with vendors regarding missing or needed documentation such as packing slips, BOL, PODs.
  7. Ship out internal requests, including parts repairs, with proper documentation; expedite when necessary; file receiving paperwork appropriately.
  8. Assist MRO Buyer and Purchasing Manager with invoice reconciliation, monitor open POs, create requisitions, and request quotes.
  9. Communicate with vendors for additional information; support month-end PO closure and finance activities.
  10. Track inventory movements, run usage reports, and recommend inventory level adjustments or obsolescence actions.
  11. Support inventory system data integrity by validating information accuracy.
  12. Material handling duties may require lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
  • Minimum of 1 year of inventory/material handling experience; Storeroom experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Proficient in computer skills for updating inventory records.
  • Ability to read and prepare packing slips and labels.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to traverse the storeroom quickly and efficiently.
  • Physically capable of maintaining inventory and cleanliness.

Preferred qualifications include forklift certification and strong MRO experience, along with proficiency in Excel.
