About the role

The Storekeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day management, including receipt and disbursement, of the facility’s parts, services, materials, and supplies and the inventory control system. The Storekeeper will also work closely with the Facility Buyer and facility management to ensure that necessary parts, materials, and safety supplies are available for ongoing facility needs. Computer-based inventory record keeping and manual inventory checks are also a part of the storekeeper’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all inventory/storeroom-related activities for the facility.
  • Manage supplier interface, strengthen vendor database and maintain and assure high-ethical relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Maintains records of physical counts, receipts, adjustments, and returns to ensure the accuracy of the facility’s inventory system.
  • Responsible for all shipping and receiving for the facility, including physically placing parts/equipment in the designated warehouse location.
  • Responsible for ensuring all parts and equipment are correctly binned and the inventory database reflects the correct bin locations of all parts and equipment. This is a critical part of the Storekeeper’s role.
  • Shipping canceled and/or damaged items back to suppliers as appropriate.
  • Ensure that spare parts are within established minimums & maximums.
  • Ensure that procured materials & services are requisitioned correctly and that materials & services received meet all aspects of quality, safety, timeliness, and best value to the company.
  • Assist with low-value procurement activities, maximizing usage of the P-Card.
  • Handle additional administrative tasks as required.
  • Cross-train in scale house and serve as backup for scale operation.
  • Continuous effort to lower plant inventory items via:
    • Min-max optimization
    • Inventory sharing and coordination with other Reworld locations
    • Supplier inventory agreements
    • Standardize use of items where possible
    • Third-party solutions
    • Sale of obsolete and unusable items

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent coupled with one to three years of related experience.
  • Experience managing inventory in an industrial environment and shipping/receiving is preferred.
  • Power plant experience and a mechanic or materials management background are a plus.
  • Must operate the plant’s mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts and light trucks) safely and according to policy and procedure.
  • Must be highly organized and have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses working within deadlines to complete projects or assignments, operating a computer and utilizing various business software—ability to multi-task and focus on day-to-day details.
  • Skills in Microsoft programs, specifically Excel, are necessary.
  • Customer service oriented and excellent interpersonal skills, including being responsive to plant upset conditions & providing support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • GED/HS Diploma required.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift or obtain an operator's certificate within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit testing daily.
  • Experience managing inventory in an industrial environment is preferred.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving is preferred.
  • Power plant experience and mechanical or materials management background are a plus.
  • Strong computer skills are required.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently exposed to high temperatures and outside weather conditions.
  • Working near moving machinery as well as noisy and dusty environments, one must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a negative pressure respirator per OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1910.134.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and rolling ladder structures; must be able to tolerate heights.
  • Frequently required to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
  • Lift to 50 pounds.

The expected hourly pay rate for this position is $27-$30 per hour. This is a good-faith estimate of what we hope to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
