Job summary

Reworld Projects, LLC is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to join our Huntsville, AL facility. You will work with the control room to operate and inspect power plant systems, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with procedures.

The role involves managing boiler operations, auxiliary equipment, and process monitoring around the clock. The position requires 2–3 years’ boiler/heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience operating boiler or heavy industrial equipment.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts.
• Chemistry testing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures (boilers, air pollution control, ash systems, heavy equipment).
• Monitor boiler plant auxiliary equipment (pumps, motors, fans, dampers, compressors, valves, conveyors, turbines).
• Read meters, gauges and data to identify trends or disruptions.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform sampling, basic chemistry testing and water treatment as required.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment (cranes, skid steers, forklifts).
• Maintain proper refuse-fuel levels and mix in designated pits.
• Carry out additional duties to ensure safe, efficient operations.

About the role

As an Auxiliary Operator, you will work in collaboration with our facility control room to operate and inspect various power plant systems safely and efficiently to ensure the operational effectiveness of Reworld's industrial disposal process.

Position Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures, systems include, but are not exclusively limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment
• Monitor and inspect various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations
• Monitor air pollution control equipment
• Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as required
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
• Responsible for maintaining correct levels of refuse‑fuel in operations equipment, and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operations
• Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations

Position Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience operating a boiler, heavy industrial equipment, some maintenance
• Experience with chemistry testing a plus
• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule
• Shift: Rotating 12 hours days/nights and additional overtime as needed/during outages

Physical Demands of the Role

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Quality to wear a full-face respirator
• Consistently work in various weather conditions

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location.

It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 28.85 - 38.41 USD per hour
