County of Santa Barbara is seeking a Storekeeper (Temporary) in the Fire Department to manage storeroom operations, inventory, and purchasing, with 30-40 hours per week.
The role requires two years of storekeeping and inventory control experience, plus a valid California driver’s license. This CSR 905 Extra Help appointment is a temporary, non-permanent position with ACA eligibility.
SALARY: $27.14 - $32.32 Hourly

PLEASE NOTE: This is a Civil Service Rule (CSR) 905 Extra Help Appointment. An extra-help appointment is defined as an appointment made to a non-regular, non-permanent position established on a temporary basis to meet peak loads, unusual work situations, seasonal and recurrent work, intermittent assignments, or emergencies. This position is exempt from the Provisions of the Civil Service Rules.

Under general supervision, the selected candidate maintains the department's storeroom, including stocking of operational materials and supplies, inventory control and recordkeeping, and purchasing; moves office furniture and equipment; and performs related duties as required.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.

Must be physically able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds above and below shoulder height, climb ladders and perform continuous standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
Once a conditional offer of employment has been made, candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check, which includes a conviction history check, and satisfactory reference checks. The background check includes a Live Scan screening. Appointee will be subject to a post-offer medical evaluation or examination.
