Job summary

State of Ohio’s Southwest Developmental Center is seeking a part-time Storekeeper to manage storeroom inventory, process orders, and ensure accurate stock control. Duties include receiving, distributing, and delivering supplies, while maintaining records and inspecting items for damage or expiration.

Ideal candidates will have basic arithmetic knowledge and some inventory experience, with attention to detail and adaptability.

Qualifications

  • Formal arithmetic education; 3 months training or 3 months experience in inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and distribute stock in a one-person storeroom; review invoices and packing slips for accuracy.
  • Rotate stock, inventory, and restock items; assist with physical inventory and supplier price checks.

Job Duties:

Under general supervision of Financial Analyst Supervisor and with working knowledge of inventory control and agency storeroom procedures receives and distributes stock, supplies and/or equipment in a one-person storeroom. Reviews invoices, purchase order codes and/or packing slips to ensure correctness of items and to ensure accurate quantities delivered, inspects stock for damage and expiration date if applicable, unloads stock, fills orders, delivers stock and stores appropriately. Responsible for returning damaged stock and/or equipment, inaccurate shipments, out of date stock if applicable or damaged stock and/or equipment and follow up on invoice discrepancies, contacts user and buyer with delivery problems.

Inventories and orders/purchase with state payment card supplies and/or equipment; completes inventory and other related records (i.e. update inventory software to track stock items); assists with physical inventory to verify accuracy of records.Reviews vendor and pricing availability to attain best price for purchased supplies and/or equipment and ensuring state and/or resident purchase requirements are followed. Rotates stock for efficient storage; moves furniture, processes in-coming and/or out-going mail; cleans and organizes storeroom (i.e. sweeps with broom, mop, removes trash); photocopies material and/or prints from computer related material to stock items (i.e. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), instruction manuals, assembly directions). Operates forklift &/or other equipment (i.e. manual and electric jack, pallet stacker, hand truck) to move and store stock or equipment. Prepares supply request (i.e. pulls orders, verifies quantities to ensure accuracy, completes restock request to purchase pending supervisor approval) and delivers supplies to requesting areas.

Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in inventory control. In addition, employees working in a drug central warehouse or storeroom must pass security screen.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

May be exposed to extreme temperatures while working in cold storage or outdoors.
