Job summary

JCPenney in Eagan, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in building a high-performing team and delivering an outstanding customer experience. You will help execute store operations, maintain a visually appealing store, and develop staff who drive sales and brand loyalty.

The role reports to the Store Manager and requires leadership, a customer-focused approach, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Travel to other store locations may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Co/Assistant Manager in a similar volume apparel business.
• Proven track record of exceeding sales and statistics.
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
• May require occasional travel to other store locations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to create action plans to achieve results and grow the business.
• Understand and demonstrate product knowledge, selling and operational skills to maximize sales.
• Engage with customers to build relationships and brand loyalty by using company tools.
• Develop team members who are committed to delivering a great customer experience.
• Oversee the assigned division of responsibility and be accountable for results.
• Support store standards for merchandising and operations consistently.
• Learn all aspects of the business and share ideas to drive the business.
• Remain composed in challenges and unforeseen circumstances.
• Perform POS transactions on designated shifts and execute management functions in the absence of Store Manager.
