Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development in Fredericksburg, VA. You will assist with day-to-day activities, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks like walking, standing, bending and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits and receipts.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness including restrooms, floors and waste removal.
