Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is hiring a Cashier/Stocker with lead capacity when the Store Manager is away. You will unload trucks, stock, stock displays, assist customers, and maintain a clean store while protecting assets.

This role emphasizes customer service leadership and operational accuracy in a fast-paced retail environment. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain register countertops and bags; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
