Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in East Haven, CT to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with opening/closing, merchandising, and staff training while upholding company policies and safety standards.

The role involves lifting up to 55 lbs, strong communication, and a proactive approach to everyday store tasks. This position is part-time at 32 Frontage Road and offers opportunities for growth within store leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well‑stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
