Job summary

Wegmans in Pennsylvania is seeking an in-store shopper to support curbside pick-up and in-store order fulfillment. You will use the store app to communicate with customers, assemble orders, and stage them for pickup.

The role emphasizes fast-paced service, accuracy, and teamwork. You will bag items, process substitutions and payments, maintain a clean workspace, and may help at the register as needed. Experience in retail or food service is helpful.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, preferably in food, grocery or retail.
• Ability to use a company-issued device to manage orders and communicate with customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently

The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes standing and walking for up to 4 hours without a break, pushing a shopping cart, repetitive hand and arm movements, including using a computer, smart device and telephone. There is frequent reaching, including reaches above shoulder height, occasional to frequent bending, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-20 pounds, with a maximum weight lifted of 45 pounds occasionally. May receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderately high, and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is mostly indoors and involves exposure to cold (33° - 55°) and freezing (0° - 20°) temperatures. The work environment also involves seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather. Basic tools and equipment used included a shopping cart, utility cart, shopping bags, computer, smart device, telephone, printer, cash register, and common office-related items.; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
