Job summary

Murphy USA is hiring part-time Shift Leads at our Southport, NC location. Join a large national retailer offering daily pay, health benefits, 401K, and career advancement opportunities. You will lead a team to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure smooth store operations.

Ideal candidates have cashier experience, a high school diploma or GED, and reliable transportation. Promotion to Assistant Manager can occur within 6 months, with a supportive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED, or at least 6 months of related job experience.
• Requires minimum 3 months of cashier experience.
• Must be 18+ years of age (local age requirements vary by state).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Providing prompt, efficient, and courteous customer experience.
• Responding to and resolving customers’ requests and concerns.
• Operating cash register.
• Ensuring fuel and merchandise is available for customers.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Supporting the Store Manager in all store operations.
• Helping lead the team to exceed the store’s performance goals and objectives.
• Performing job related duties as assigned.
• In the absence of management, provide backup duties including daily/monthly paperwork, resolving problems, inventory ordering and training new employees.

Requirements

• Must be 18+ years of age (local age requirements: 19 in Indiana, 20 in Kentucky and 21 in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Utah)
• High school diploma/GED, or at least 6 months of related job experience
• Requires minimum 3 months of cashier experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Shift Lead Salary Range: $11.25 - $11.75 per hour
Assistant Manager Salary Range: $15.25 - $15.75 per hour
