Job summary

Sherwood Electromotion Inc. is hiring for a Store Keeper to perform a variety of parts and supplies handling for the plant. The role involves sorting, storing, and issuing materials, and requires forklift operation, mechanical and electrical aptitude.

The position offers competitive hourly rates based on skills and experience, with probationary period eligibility for profit sharing and extended benefits, plus 401K setup. Strong accuracy and familiarity with basic office software are expected.

Qualifications

• High School or Technical School required.
• 2–5 years’ experience in a related industry
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Familiarity with computers and basic Microsoft Office/Outlook applications
• Experience as a driver, shipper and receiver in a related industry
• Understand ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System requirements
• Must be able to operate a forklift truck.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort incoming parts, supplies and materials.
• Verify quantities received match the Purchase Order.
• Notify Purchasing Manager of any discrepancies.
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner as per system locations.
• Consolidate actual part usage with work orders and stock quantities.
• Maintain yard storage with accurate cores, locations and photos.
• Provide feedback to Purchasing Manager on discrepancies in usage and system expectations.
• Perform cycle counts regularly on specific parts.
• Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
• Place materials on pick tickets in the green boxes.
• Maintain and track tools and instruments.
• Keep store clean and passages clear for movement.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

JOB PURPOSE

Perform a variety of store keeping activities of parts and supplies, materials and equipment. The incumbent will sort, store and issue part and supplies for use in the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive and sort incoming parts, supplies and materials
• Verify that quantity of products to be received into stock are correct and match the Purchase Order
• Notify the Purchasing Manager of any discrepancies between goods received and goods ordered
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner as per specified locations in the system.
• Consolidate actual part used by work order and left over between Green boxes and stock quantities.
• Maintain yard storage, with accurate cores, locations and photos
• Provide feedback to the purchasing manager regarding any discrepancy on actual usage and system expectation.
• Perform on regular basis cycle counts on specific parts
• Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
• To place materials on the pick tickets in the green boxes
• To maintain and keep track of tools and instruments
• To keep store clean, while keeping the passages clear for free movement
• Perform related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum requirement High School or Technical School.
• Two to five years’ experience in a related industry
• Must have mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Familiarity with computers and basic Microsoft Office/Outlook application programs will be an asset
• Experience as a driver, shipper and receiver in a related industry
• Understand Safety and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System requirements
• Must be able to operate a forklift truck.

Pay Rate : $20-$24 (Rates are flexible based on the skills, experience, and interviews)
