Job summary

Jobtailor in New York is seeking a store operations supervisor to oversee daily activities across Pump & Pantry locations, ensuring standards and customer service excellence.

You will supervise 4 to 16 employees, train staff on food handling, checklist compliance, and shift management, and coordinate inventory, pricing, and documentation.

This role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficient operation at the primary location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Must have a Food Handler’s permit or Serve Safe Certification where required by law or policy.
• Knowledge of operations and maintenance of all equipment in the assigned stores.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability and willingness to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
• Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other team members.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Physical attendance at the primary work location is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the overall operation of assigned Pump & Pantry locations.
• Oversee daily store operations in the absence of the General Manager or 1st Assistant Manager.
• Ensure company standards are consistently met through direct involvement and supervision of team members.
• Open and close shifts and complete required documentation.
• Ensure customer needs are met and customer service policies are followed.
• Supervise cash handling procedures, control, and bank deposits.
• Ensure food preparation, handling, storage, and safety procedures comply with regulations.
• Resolve customer, personnel, and mechanical issues.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, safety, and appearance.
• Assist with inventory ordering, control, and merchandise pricing.
• Support company training programs.
• supervise and train store personnel.
• Train employees on food handling, hold times, code dating, and temperature controls.
• Ensure food products are properly stored, labeled, code dated, and temperature controlled.
• Ensure shifts are adequately covered and personnel are properly uniformed.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance, customer, and personnel problems to upper management.
• Maintain records related to merchandise, personnel, and fuel.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• Attend management and training sessions as required.
• Provide friendly and competent customer service.
