Job summary

Family Dollar in Coatesville, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and workforce development. You will help supervise associates, ensure friendliness and safety, and maintain a well-stocked, clean store environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling, merchandising, loss prevention, and compliance with company policies. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in store management in retail, grocery, or drugstore.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure the seasonal areas of the store are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness across the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
