Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will assist with supervision, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits while supporting store profitability and loss prevention.

The role requires leadership in scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with policies, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise with receiving, stocking, and planogram maintenance.
• Assist with inventory control, damages, markdowns, and deposits.
