Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will assist with plan-o-gram setup, stock integrity, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, operating the cash register, and maintaining store cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to use IBM cash register functions.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and follow store procedures for receiving.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes per process.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate items.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise in the store.
• Operate cash register and collect payments; bag items.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the front end and back area.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
