Job summary

Gap Inc. in Plainview, NY is seeking an Assistant Manager to set the tone for the store and lead the team to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. You will drive profitable sales through operations, merchandising and talent development, under the guidance of the General Manager.

You will coach Leads, Experts and Brand Associates to raise performance and engagement, while promoting community involvement and a frictionless omni-channel experience.

Qualifications

• Currently employed in or previously worked in retail with 1–3 years of management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills with customers and teammates.
• Comfort with retail technology and standard operating procedures.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Drive store sales and deliver results with a customer-centric approach.
• Recruit, hire and develop Brand Associate and Expert teams.
• Own assigned area of responsibility and execute action plans.
• Perform Service Leader duties and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Represent the brand, understand competition and retail landscape.
• Promote community involvement and leverage omni-channel experiences.
• Ensure compliance with all standards.
