Job summary

Family Dollar in Spartanburg, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, provide excellent customer service, and foster team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, open/close procedures, staffing, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a well-organized store and safe, friendly environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, prior retail management experience preferred, strong communication and teamwork, and the ability to lift up

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records including payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Enforce policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
