Job summary

Dollar Tree in Warren, Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. This role helps with day-to-day store activities, greets customers and answers questions, and ensures merchandise is stocked and presented to company standards.

You will supervise and train Store Associates, open and close the store, uphold safety and company policies, protect assets, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
