Job summary

Variety Wholesalers, Inc. in Mt. Airy, NC is seeking a motivated Assistant Manager/Key Carrier to support store operations and deliver excellent customer service. You will assist the Store Manager in daily tasks to help meet company goals.

Responsibilities include hiring/training staff, opening/closing duties in the manager's absence, safeguarding assets, stocking merchandise, and ensuring a positive sales floor environment. Flexibility and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Full-time or part-time availability including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training and development of store team members.
• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Open/close procedures in Store Manager's absence.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Direct hourly team members when Store Manager is away.
• Assist with freight flow, merchandise receipt/returns.
• Plan and implement directives from Store Operations Weekly Bulletin.
