Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Baker, Louisiana, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily operations, deliver friendly customer service, and develop the store team. You will assist with merchandise flow, open/close procedures, loss prevention, and ensuring store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and reporting.
• Maintain promotional fixtures, displays, and store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
