Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Ville Platte, LA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist the Store Manager, supervise and train associates, and help maintain clean, organized sales floors.

The role requires strong communication, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a focus on safety and loss prevention. This is a part-time position with opportunities to contribute to merchandising and scheduling while delivering friendly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties such as walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure visual standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure assets, including cash.
