STORE/NIGHT LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Grocery operations. Minimum Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Grocery and retail experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
  • Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
  • Develop appropriate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
  • Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in performance appraisals.
  • Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of grocery specials.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  • Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Implement promotional plans for the department.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Monitor and control department expenses.
  • Assist store management in preparing budgets, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate actions on financial reports.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
  • Schedule price changes and update shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process.
  • Train associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
  • Report customer or employee accidents and safety risks or issues, including illegal activities.
  • Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.
