STORE/NIGHT LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Minimum qualifications:
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Ability to handle stressful situations

- Management experience preferred
- Grocery experience
- Retail experience

- Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.

- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of grocery specials.
- Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
- Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
- Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
- Implement the promotional plan for the department.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Monitor and control department expenses.
- Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on financial reports.
- Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
- Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
- Plan, organize, and supervise inventory processes.
- Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained, and logs are kept.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
- Report customer or employee accidents and safety risks or issues, including illegal activities like robbery, theft, or fraud.
