Job description

STORE/NIGHT LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Grocery operations. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Grocery experience
  • Retail experience

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting trust and respect among associates
  • Communicating company, department, and job-specific information to associates
  • Collaborating with associates and promoting teamwork to achieve company/store goals
  • Establishing performance goals for the department and empowering associates to meet or exceed targets
  • Developing adequate scheduling to manage customer volume
  • Training and developing associates and participating in performance appraisals
  • Adhering to all laws and company guidelines
  • Maintaining knowledge of products and responding to customer inquiries
  • Offering product samples and informing customers of specials
  • Developing and implementing a department business plan
  • Creating sales promotions and monitoring sales and merchandising activities
  • Managing inventory, stock conditions, and pricing updates
  • Ensuring food safety and proper equipment maintenance
  • Practicing safety procedures and reporting safety risks or incidents
