Job summary

Marc Jacobs International seeks a Store Manager to lead its Wrentham store in Wr entham, Massachusetts. The Store Manager partners with the Sales Supervisor to drive Sales Generation, People Development, Operations and Visual Merchandising, ensuring exceptional customer service and brand alignment.

You will train and coach a diverse team, monitor KPIs, and manage daily store functions from opening to closing.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a managerial retail role in a store/boutique setting.
  • Knowledge/interest in art, photography, literature.
  • Strong understanding of retail store operations and concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Wrentham store in all aspects: sales generation, people development, operations and visual merchandising.
  • Coach and develop Sales Supervisors, Sales and Support Associates.
  • Monitor KPIs and set daily/ monthly targets; drive selling ceremony.
  • Ensure store operations, back-office, stock, cash, cleanliness, and maintenance.
  • Lead visual merchandising to brand standards and maintain presentation.
  • Recruit, onboard, and evaluate team performance; conduct monthly one-on-one meetings.
  • Communicate brand strategy and local market opportunities.
  • Coordinate with HR for payroll and attendance; plan monthly staffing.

OVERVIEW

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Store Manager to lead its Wrentham store in Wrentham, Massachusetts.

The Store Manager partners with and supports the Sales Supervisor in all aspects of store functions: Sales Generation, People Development, Operations and Visual Merchandising. The Store Manager focuses on effective communication, training, coaching, and developing all Sales Supervisors, Sales, and Support Associates both on the sales floor and in the stock room. The Store Manager is also responsible for generating his or her own percentage of sales. Proficiency in all POS transactions, customer service, store opening/closing, operational practices, and visual merchandising standards is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Generation
  • Daily monitoring of KPIs and sales results
  • Set daily goals during the morning brief
  • Set action plans to achieve monthly/annual targets while reinforcing sales techniques
  • Embody the Selling Ceremony
  • Propose challenges to motivate the team to reach targets
  • Develop data collection and data accuracy
  • Train and empower the team to develop customer loyalty
  • Train the team to recruit new clients through a personalized relationship
  • Identify actions to reactivate sleeping clients
  • Proactively advise/propose events to develop business & client database
  • Attend major city events, act as a Brand Ambassador, and develop a network in the market
  • Understand local economics to anticipate business impact
Operations
  • Know and apply the Store Operation Manual
  • Organize and monitor all back‑office activities (stock and cash point)
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, facilities, and store maintenance
  • Prepare and monitor rolling inventory and annual fiscal inventory
  • Report activity with qualitative comments and set action plans; use IT tools as set up by the Company
  • Manage, organize, and follow up with all product repairs for clients
Visual Merchandising
  • Consistently maintain visual guidelines and standards of presentation
  • Lead by example in presentation and grooming; ensure the team represents the Brand (uniform policy, grooming guidelines, etc.)
  • Communicate qualitative and proactive feedback on products & visual merchandising to drive results
People Development
Recruit / Onboarding
  • Define needs in terms of profiles, competencies, languages
  • Partner with HR to hire the best profiles
  • Proactively source talented profiles from various backgrounds (competitors, retailers, hospitality)
  • Ensure new employees follow the onboarding process and assess performance and integration during the first 90 days
Manage Performance
  • Monitor performance: set clear daily/monthly targets (sales, customer data capture, product knowledge)
  • Build team spirit and an atmosphere that encourages performance and initiatives
  • Value/reward performance and manage underperformance with constant feedback
  • Perform monthly one‑to‑one meetings with each team member
  • Write and administer all corrective actions for all staff levels
Develop Skills & Competencies
  • Define a development plan for each team member and follow it during PCR meetings
  • Coach in the moment
  • Discuss with HR any other development actions needed
  • Identify potential succession plans within the store
Communicate the Brand Strategy
  • Communicate upcoming events, store openings, key company figures
  • Facilitate questions or concerns from the team regarding company goals and focus
  • Develop curiosity and knowledge of competitors, new retail stores, upcoming projects, local arts, events, restaurants, etc.
Team Organization
  • Prepare monthly planning
  • Follow up with HR on payroll and attendance
  • Define clear roles & expectations
  • Define partnership with the Sales Supervisor and train them to become a future Store Manager
