Job summary

Wild Birds Unlimited is seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead daily operations at our Denville, NJ location. You will oversee sales, inventory, merchandising, and staff while maintaining a high-energy, customer-focused shopping environment.

This is a full-time role with Saturdays and some holidays required. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of retail management, a proven track record in sales performance and inventory control, and comfort with POS reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail management experience with operational responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience managing sales performance and inventory.
• Strong working knowledge of POS reporting and retail metrics.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Highly organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily store operations and performance.
• Drives sales while managing expenses and profitability.
• Meets regularly with the owner to review results and identify growth and efficiency opportunities.
• Understands that the high energy customer experience is the #1 Priority.
• Utilizes strong selling skills to meet customer needs and drive sales.
• Completes required training to become a Certified Bird Feeding Specialist.
• Assists with hiring, training, and coaching new store associates.
• Assists with scheduling and maintaining an effective work schedule.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels and monitors inventory turns.
• Oversees vendor ordering, receiving, pricing and POS inventory management.
• Assists with merchandising, signage, and display updates.
• Executes marketing initiatives and promotional plans with the owner.
