Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory control, merchandising, and store operations. This role develops external candidates for future Store Manager positions and helps ensure store targets are met.

You will lead by example in cash handling, safety, and policy compliance, while maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and supervising daily store activities. This is a full-time, on-site position with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking per manager direction.
• Manage inventory including damages, markdowns, and scans; conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Lead and provide superior customer service.
• Model company policies and procedures.
