Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling paperwork. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
