Overview

The Store Manager is a leadership position responsible for managing all aspects of the retail facility and supervising store associates. The Store Manager reports directly to the District Manager. This role involves maintaining overall store performance, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing a team, and maximizing profitability. Store Managers are key to driving the success and growth of our business.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the "Cavender's Culture" and promote our Mission, Vision, and Values
• Serve as a business partner and support resource to the company
• Manage the retail store and supervise all staff
• Oversee daily store operations
• Hire, train, and discipline store associates as needed
• Schedule employee hours
• Increase sales, maintain profit margins, and reduce controllable expenses
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
• Manage store funds and financial records
• Open and close the store
• Oversee merchandise receiving, special orders, and transfers
• Handle merchandise returns and vendor reimbursements
• Prepare payroll and related reports
• Maintain store appearance and professional image
• Train and motivate staff to maximize sales
• Implement marketing and advertising directives
• Order supplies and manage inventory waste
• Price merchandise correctly and manage markdowns
• Ensure safety and security standards
• Communicate marketing and promotional information to staff
• Prepare deposits and handle financial transactions

Qualifications and Requirements

• 5+ years of successful retail experience
• 5+ years of operational leadership
• 3+ years in store or general management
• Ability to work at least 48 hours per week, including busy seasons
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift objects, and reach
• Good communication and comprehension skills
• Ability to interpret documents and instructions

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years in Western-related industries
• Retail sales success
• College degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
