Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff in compliance with laws and policies.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to interpret diagrams, safety rules, and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing to ensure store is properly staffed and opened/closed each day.
• Train employees, conduct performance evaluations, and address gaps or counseling as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings and events to reinforce policies.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Order merchandise to meet in-stock targets; manage inventory and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing, signage, and fixtures meet standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash controls; ensure security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean, safe store.
