Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and ensure excellent customer service. You will recruit, train, and develop staff, manage inventory, cash handling, and store compliance while maintaining a safe and clean shopping environment.

In this role, you will oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations, and you will work to optimize in-stock levels, pricing, and merchandising across the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, select and retain qualified employees per labor laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise store staff to meet staffing targets and schedules.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rates and opportunities for advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety, and policy expectations regularly; coordinate team meetings.
• Open and close the store as required.
• Monitor sales, inventory, and expenses to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage are consistent with company standards.
• Maintain cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
