Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, inventory control and customer service. You will ensure compliance with company policies, manage performance, and drive sales through effective merchandising and loss prevention practices.

Responsibilities include staff recruitment, hiring decisions, delivering coaching, and daily store opening/closing duties.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and opened/closed consistently.
Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
Orders to meet or exceed in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory management weekly.
Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per Company processes.
Ensures merchandise presentation and pricing are up to standard.
