Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Texas to lead daily store operations, including staffing, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and customer service. You will ensure compliance with policies and drive performance through coaching and reporting.

You will open and close the store, manage schedules, and supervise a team to deliver outstanding service while controlling inventory and shrink. Experience in retail management preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail management experience preferred (1 year).
• Ability to read and interpret documents and follow procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling and inventory procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counseling as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding pay and progression.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open/close store at least twice per week; manage staffing.
• Analyze operating statements for sales, profitability and inventory trends.
• Order stock to meet in-stock targets and review weekly plans.
• Ensure merchandise is presented according to standards; manage pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory and cash controls; protect store assets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a safe store environment.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and documentation deadlines.
